Setting boundaries is an essential act of self-preservation. When you encounter situations or people that are toxic or harmful, constructing a metaphorical “China wall” around your emotional and mental space can protect you from unnecessary harm. This doesn’t mean closing off completely, but it does mean asserting your dignity, prioritizing your well-being, and refusing to let negativity seep into your life. Boundaries are acts of courage, not weakness.
