Selfless Relations - A Short Story

 Selfless Relations

Characters: A Little Boy and The Old Man

Setting: A Garden

A little boy approached the old man sitting on a bench in the garden.

Little Boy: "Which is the most genuine relationship in the world?"

Old Man: (smiling) "There are only two relationships that are truly genuine."

Little Boy: "What are they?"

Old Man: "Parents and teachers."

Little Boy: "Okay, but why?"

Old Man: "Because they don’t want anything in return from you; they only want your happiness."

Little Boy: (thoughtfully) "I agree, but I think there’s one more genuine relationship."

Old Man: "Which one?"

Little Boy: "A genuine friend!"

Old Man: (nodding) "Yes, indeed!"
