The Cost of Honesty

 When truth is spoken,
friendship gets broken.
Then human heart feels shaken
and the conscious gets awaken
Promises turn frozen,
Unsaid words remain unchosen,
Silent pain stays unbroken,
Yet inner strength becomes outspoken.
Masks fall unchosen,
Old wounds reopen,
Silence goes unbroken,
Yet new strength is awoken.

When truth is spoken,
Some friendships end up broken.
The human heart feels shaken,
And conscience stands awakened.

Promises lie frozen,
Many paths stay unchosen.
Silent pain remains unbroken,
Yet inner strength grows outspoken.

Hidden masks fall unchosen,
Old wounds quietly open.
Though silence stays unbroken,
A new courage is awoken.
