Who betrays you once will betray you a thousand times; there’s no need to drink the whole sea to realize it’s salty. This saying reminds us that a single act of betrayal is often enough to reveal a person’s true character. Trust, once broken, cannot be rebuilt easily, because betrayal leaves behind doubt and emotional scars. Foolishly giving endless chances in the hope of change may only invite repeated hurt. Just as one drop of seawater tells us its nature, one betrayal is enough to teach us to be cautious. Learning from such experiences helps us protect our dignity, set boundaries, and choose relationships that are rooted in honesty and respect.
